Tamilnadu: Another student dies.. Three commit suicide in 2 weeks

Tamilnadu: Suicides of Tamil Nadu girls are painful. Another class 12 student committed suicide on Tuesday in Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu. The suicide of three students within two weeks in the state is worrying. According to the police, a minor girl studying in the twelfth class committed suicide on Tuesday. In her four-page suicide note, she expressed that her parents had high expectations for her to study IAS, but she was not able to fulfill their aspirations. Police said that the girl got upset after her mother reprimanded her. Relatives of the girl tried to perform her last rites without informing the police. But after getting this information, the police stopped the efforts and sent her body for postmortem. A case of suspicious death was registered and the police shifted the body to the hospital.

This happened before the death of students in Kallakurichi and Kilacheri, which had recently created a tense situation in the same state. The suicide of three students within a fortnight is creating a stir in Tamil Nadu. A class 12 student committed suicide by hanging herself in the hostel room of a government aided school in Tiruvallur district on Monday morning. A 17-year-old girl from Tiruthani is studying in a government-aided school in Kilacheri village of Tiruvallur district. Mappedu police registered a case and then transferred the case to CBCID. According to the Madras High Court judgement, any death in an educational institution has to be investigated by the CB-CID.

The incident took place a few days after a 12th class student attempted suicide after being tortured by her teachers in Kallakurichi in the state. After the death of a female student in a private school in Kallakuruchi after she jumped from the hostel, the Salem police made heavy security around the school and other areas as violent protests broke out in the district. Section 144 had to be imposed in many areas. The High Court directed the police to find out who instigated the violence.
