NIA searches across Tamil Nadu: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches at 22 places across Tamil Nadu. The NIA has started an investigation into a case registered on the smuggling of drugs and arms from Sri Lanka recently. Drug mafia and smugglers were targeted. Chennai in Tamil Nadu. Gunasekharan alias Guna and Pushfaraja alias Pookutty Kanna are being managed by NIA investigation which has revealed that they have links with Haji Salim, a drug and arms supplier in Pakistan. The NIA said that drug and arms smugglers are working for the revival of the LTTE organization in Sri Lanka and India. NIA said that cases have been registered against the accused under sections of IPC, UAPA and NDPS. In the raids conducted by the NIA on Thursday, digital devices and some documents were seized.

Meanwhile, NIA conducted searches at nine places in Kashmir on Wednesday. Srinagar as well as Pulwama were searched. The NIA conducted these searches in a conspiracy case related to terrorist activities. The NIA is re-investigating a case registered by the Kashmir Police on July 18. NIA arrested four accused and recovered 15 pistols, 30 magazines, 300 rounds of bullets and a Scorpio vehicle.
