But in November last year, the Center raised the excise duty on petrol and diesel to Rs. 5, Rs. 10 reduced. In this background, BJP-ruled states have also reduced VAT on fuel prices.

Eknath Shinde, who recently took oath as the new Chief Minister, proved his strength in the Sansa Sabha today. He won with the support of 164 legislators in the confirmation test held in the morning.
