Iran Executes 3 Women In Single Day: In recent times, executions have been carried out one after another in Iran. The government there is hanging those who have been found guilty in the past in jails and public places. Recently, the government of Iran has executed three women in a single day this week. Iran Human Rights Organization of Norway has expressed concern about these executions. On July 27, three women were hanged in different prisons in Iran for killing their husbands in separate cases. In 2022, the Iranian government executed a total of 10 women.

Soheela Abedi, who got married at the age of 15, was found guilty of murdering her husband 10 years after their marriage and was hanged in a prison in the city of Sanandaz in western Iran. Faranak Beheshti, who was found guilty of murdering her husband five years ago, was hanged in a prison in the northwestern city of Urmia. Similarly, Senobar Jalali, an Afghan national, was hanged in a Tehran jail.

Meanwhile, the rights organizations are expressing their anger on Iran for carrying out executions one after another. A woman there does not have the right to unilaterally seek divorce, at least in cases of domestic violence. Rights activists say Iran’s laws do not prioritize women’s rights. In October last year, Iran’s Humor Rights report said Iran had executed at least 164 women between 2010 and October 2021. 306 people have been hanged since 2022 alone. Iran is ending the right to life with the death penalty, the Washington-based Abdorahman Borromand Center for Human Rights told Amnesty International on Wednesday.
