Draupadi Murmu As 15th President: Draupadi Murmu won as the 15th President of India. Murmu, who entered the arena as an NDA candidate, won a great victory. Draupadi Murmu created a record as the first tribal woman president of the world’s largest democracy. After three rounds, Draupadi Murmu secured more than half of the votes. He won the presidency with two more rounds to go. At the end of three rounds, Draupadi Murmu secured 5,77,777 votes, while opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha secured 2,61,062 valuable votes. He will be sworn in as President on 25th of this month. Draupadi Murmu was cross-voted in many states. Especially from the states of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, there was a huge cross-voting. In total, more than half of the 10.80 lakh votes were cast in the presidential election. NDA candidate Murmu was supported by 44 parties while opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha was supported by 34 parties. In the recent election, 68.87 percent of the votes were received and 31.1 percent of the votes were obtained.
A total of 4754 votes were cast at the end of the election. Out of this 4701 votes were valid and 53 votes were invalid. In this Draupadi Murmu got 2824 first preference votes. The total value of these is 6,76,803. Opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha got 1,877 votes. The value of these is 3,80,177. Rajya Sabha Secretary General PC Modi declared Draupadi Murmu as the 15th presidential candidate as the returning officer after getting a majority in the first preference votes. Even the public representatives of parties like Shiv Sena, who previously supported the opposition candidate, voted for Draupadi Murmu. Along with the NDA coalition parties, parties like BSP, YCP, BJD and Akali Dal supported Draupadi Murmu. Draupathi Murmu showed huge lead in three consecutive rounds. Opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha congratulated Draupadi Murmu who won the presidency. Current President Ram Nath Kovind along with Prime Minister Modi and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself visited Draupadi Murmu’s house.
