Meanwhile, it is known that the central government has recently announced a new recruitment scheme called ‘Agnipath’. Under this, the tri-forces will recruit 46 thousand firemen this year. The recruitment process has already started. Violent protests against the scheme took place in several parts of India last month. The agitators demanded that it be withdrawn as it did not provide job guarantee.
