The Kurnool Municipal Corporation Council meeting was marred by upheavals in the YCP. Twenty corporators belonging to the MLA Hafeez Khan faction were absent from the meeting. The corporators decided not to go to the council meeting after meeting at the MLA’s office on Thursday morning. The corporators were dissatisfied with Mayor BY Ramaiah for not giving development funding. In the wake of this, MLA Hafiz Khan faction corporators beat Dumma instead of attending the council meeting on Thursday afternoon. According to Mayor BY Ramaiah, the contractors are not coming forward and hence the work is not going on. Some of the YCP corporators who attended this council meeting played the role of opposition.
The Kurnool Municipal Corporation Plenary Session turned out to be a success. There was confusion between the protests of the YCP and TDP corporators. The corporators were concerned that the authorities had transferred the sanitary inspectors without any information to the Municipal Corporation. The Kurnool Municipal Corporation has a total of 52 wards. Panim 16, Kodumuru 3, Kurnool 33 wards .. 25 YCP corporators were absent.
