Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah had an unexpected bitter experience. While Siddaramaiah was helping the injured in the Kerur riots, a woman expressed her anger. It is known that violent incidents took place in Kerur of Bagalkot district on 6th of this month. A man named Yasin was harassing a young woman belonging to one community and there was a fight between two communities. In this order, the activists of the Hindu Vigilance Platform clashed. With this, Yasin along with his followers attacked them. This led to violence. Four youths were injured in the incident. Police arrested 20 people belonging to both groups. Section 144 was imposed as a part of maintaining peace and security. In this context, Siddaramaiah went to the hospital on Friday to visit the injured victims. They came out after giving 2 lakhs at the rate of Rs.50 thousand each to the four affected families.

A woman belonging to the injured man’s family threw the money at the escort vehicle while he was getting into his car. “We don’t need money. We need justice. We need to punish the thugs who disturb law and order and commit violence. There should be peace in the society,” the woman who threw money at Siddaramaiah’s vehicle expressed her anger. Both Hindus and Muslims should be treated equally. The woman raised slogans saying that there is no need for consolation from the politicians and let them be calm. Even though they did nothing wrong, they said that they were attacked for no reason. Those injured should take rest for a year. Money is not the solution to their problem, she said. She said that she is ready to support her family even if she has to beg.
