Vice Presidential Poll: Jagdeep Dhankar has filed his nomination as the NDA candidate for the Vice Presidential election. It is known that BJP National President JP Nadda announced Jagdeep Dhankar as the candidate on behalf of the NDA alliance in the BJP Parliamentary Board meeting held on Saturday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, BJP National President JP Nadda and other BJP leaders were present along with him during the nomination.

The process of nominations for the Vice President election will end tomorrow. Jagdeep Dhankar, who is the Governor of West Bengal, has been announced by JP Nadda as the NDA’s vice-presidential candidate. NCP chief Sharad Pawar announced on Sunday that they are fielding former union minister and senior Congress leader Margaret Alva as their joint candidate in this election. She will also file her nomination tomorrow i.e. July 19.

Dhankar served as a member of the Lok Sabha from Jhunjhunu constituency in Rajasthan from 1989 to 1991. Served as Member of Legislative Assembly from Kishannagar Constituency from 1993 to 1998. Also served as President of Rajasthan State Bar Council Association. Appointed as the Governor of West Bengal by President Kovind on July 30, 2019. Jagdeep Dhankar, who has a long political experience, has finally emerged as the Vice-Presidential candidate. The voting process to elect the 16th Vice President of India will be held on August 6. The results will be out on the same day. The current tenure of M. Venkaiah Naidu will end on August 10. The new Vice President will take charge on the 11th.
