Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Panneerselvam suffered another setback. AIADMK, which has already expelled him from the party, has now taken another important decision. Within a few days of removing Panneerselvam from the primary membership of the AIADMK, Acting General Secretary Palaniswami expelled 16 others, including his sons. As part of the disciplinary measures, it was announced that the decision had been taken to hound the Panniru Selvam group. Palaniswami said that all of them are acting against the party.
One of Panneerselvam’s sons is representing the Lok Sabha from Rabindranath Theni constituency. Another son, Jaya Pradeep, former minister N Natarajan was also attacked by the party. The party also canceled the basic membership of some other former MLAs and MPs. In a statement, Palaniswami said that all of them have worked against the principles of the party and have brought a bad name to the AIADMK. He said that disciplinary action has been taken against 18 people and all of them are acting against the party. That is why they had to cancel their basic membership.

In the general meeting of the party held a few days ago, the dual leadership was cancelled. Palaniswami was elected as the sole interim general secretary of the party. With this, the reins of the party passed into the hands of Palaniswami. The AIADMK General Council passed a resolution removing Panneerselva from the party’s key posts and membership. It has decided to take legal action against Panneerselvam.
