At present, 15 thousand 955 cusecs of inflow water is coming into the project. The full water capacity of the project is 29.917 tmc while currently the water storage in the project is 22.417 tmc. Irrigation officials said that if another four or five tmc of flood water enters the Singur project, the gates of the project will be raised and water will be released to the Ghanpur and Nizamsagar projects below. Officials said that the inflow of water into the project will continue due to incessant rains in the district.
They are hoping that if the rains continue like this, the flood water will come heavily into the project. Munipalli, Jharasangam, Raikod, Nyalkal, Manuru, Nagal Gidda, Regodu, Vatpalli mandals along with Pulkal, which are upstream of the project, have received heavy rain and all the flood water will join the backwater of the project. While the project had 18 TMC of water reserves before the flood water, the recent rains have added more than three TMC of new water. At the beginning of the rainy season, half TMC of water is available in the project, and the farmers are happy. With the newly arrived flood water, the back water area of the project is seeing waves of water. Tourists also come here a lot. Officials said that there is no water damage to the agricultural cultivation below the project, as well as drinking water needs. He said that due to incessant rains, water will enter the Manjira river. Therefore, the irrigation officials have advised the people, farmers and cattle herders of Manjira catchment areas to be alert.
