The health department has decided to purchase IgM kits immediately to diagnose the disease. The health department has decided to send these kits to 44 government hospitals in the state.
Scrub typhus is caused by mites called trombicullis. Scrub typhus enters the body when bitten by these insects. Early detection and treatment of the disease can prevent death. But doctors say that if there is a delay, there will be danger to life. Symptoms of this disease include fever along with headache, low BP, cold, stomach problems, pain in hands, spots where insect bites occur. Scrub typhus can be fatal when diagnosis is delayed.

Meanwhile, along with scrub typhus, Nairobi fly is rampant in the northern part of West Bengal. Many people especially in Siriguri city are affected by Nairobi flies. Already more than a hundred people in Sikkim have suffered skin infections due to these Nairobi flies. Some parts of Bengal are also affected by the Nairobi fly.
