Russia has said it will deliver S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile defense systems to India as scheduled. Russia’s Ambassador to India Denis Alipov has made key remarks in the wake of concerns in India that the supply of ‘S-400’ could be delayed due to the war on Ukraine. Speaking on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Russia-India diplomatic relations, Russia’s Ambassador to India Denis Alipov said that the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile defense system was moving forward in accordance with the set deadline. It was made clear that there was no room for doubt. He wrote the foreword to the magazine ‘Russia Digest’ on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. It said there were now plenty of opportunities for Indian businesses in their domestic market in the wake of the departure of many companies from the West.

Russia has recently made it clear that it will not be affected by sanctions imposed on it by the West over its supply of the S-400 to India. India signed an agreement with Russia in October 2018 to purchase five units of the S-400 Triumph missile defense system. The deal is worth $ 5.43 billion. Despite strong objections from the US government at the time, India did not heed. The Donald Trump administration has warned that it will impose sanctions on India if it goes ahead without listening to its word on the deal.
