Along with Rishi Sunak, another person of Indian origin Suella Braverman is also in the prime ministerial race. Rishi, who showed strength in the first round, is leading in the second round as well.

He also won the second round of the Conservative Party leader post on Thursday with a maximum of 101 votes. Also qualified for the next round. After Sunak in the second round, Trade Minister Penny Mordant (83 votes), Foreign Secretary Liz Truss (64 votes), former minister Kemi Badenoch (49 votes) and Tory backbencher Tom Tugendhat (32 votes) stood in succession. All of them will compete in the next round which will be held next week. Another candidate of Indian origin, Attorney General Suela Braverman, left the race after getting 27 votes in the second round.

Rishi Sunak has shown his strength in the first round for the post of Prime Minister. MPs got more votes than anyone else. While Rishi Sunak got 88 votes in the first round, Penny Mordant got 67 votes and Trus Liz got 50 votes. Currently, six out of eight people have entered the second round and Rishi Sunak got the most votes in the second round as well.
