Almost three months have passed since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war. Russia is still continuing its attacks. Despite all the speculation that Ukraine would surrender in just weeks before the strong Russia, Russia is still struggling. However, the Ukrainian army is fighting back, with NATO countries such as the United States and Britain, as well as European Union countries providing military and strategic assistance to Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Germany and France are also preparing to supply arms to Ukraine. Russia, however, opposes the decision. Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday warned both countries not to supply arms to Ukraine. He described it as an act of further destabilization of the situation in Ukraine. Putin has told French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Schlz that the ongoing arms supply to Ukraine is dangerous. He warned that the current situation in Ukraine could exacerbate the humanitarian crisis.
Meanwhile, Sweden and Finland have decided to join the NATO alliance in their defense of the recent developments. The move, however, has further angered Russia. They warned of dire consequences if they did not want to join NATO. However, the two countries also applied to join NATO despite Russia’s warnings.
The real reason for the war, however, was that Ukraine was beginning efforts to join NATO. Ukraine, formerly part of the Soviet Union, has launched a war with Russia, which fears its very existence could be compromised if it joins US – led NATO. Russia may not stop the war until Ukraine is almost destroyed.
