Petrol Rates: కేంద్రం బాటలో రాజస్తాన్, కేరళ

Petro has reduced the burden on the central people. The Center has increased excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs. 8, with a reduction of Rs. 6 per liter on diesel and Rs. 9.5, Rs. 7 decreased. Reduced rates went into effect from midnight yesterday. Even before Diwali in November last year, the Center had similarly charged Rs 5 per liter on petrol and Rs 5 per liter on diesel. 10 reduced the central excise tax. Opposition parties have stated they will not run in the by-elections.

Meanwhile, it seems likely that several states will travel along the center route. State governments are also reducing value added tax (VAT) to prevent public opposition to their respective governments. Recently, the states of Kerala and Rajasthan have reduced state taxes on petrol and diesel. As a result, petrol and diesel rates will go down further in these states.

The Kerala government on Saturday slashed petrol and diesel rates by Rs. 2.41, Rs. Reduced 1.36 VAT. In a similar vein, the Rajasthan government has also reduced taxes on petrol and diesel by Rs. 2.48, Rs. 1.16 reduced. This has further reduced the burden on the common man in these two states.

With the Centre’s decision, many states are also likely to reduce state taxes on petrol and diesel. Even BJP-ruled states in particular are likely to reduce taxes. In addition, states like AP, Telangana and West Bengal did not reduce taxes even after the Center reduced taxes in November last year. This time, however, the situation must be reduced by a central decision. But it remains to be seen how these states will respond. The states of Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat, which will go to the polls in December this year, are also likely to reduce VAT on petrol and diesel.
