The situation in cousin country Pakistan is deteriorating day by day. That country is on the verge of bankruptcy. Economists are of the opinion that Sri Lanka will be taken to Pakistan in a few days. Pakistan, mired in deep debt, will take steps to prevent further deterioration of its economic situation.

Recently, the Federal Planning Minister of Pakistan, Ahsan Iqbal, advised the Pakistani people to reduce their tea consumption. Tea consumption should be reduced to 1-2 cups. The remarks were made to reduce tea powder being imported from other countries in the wake of the country’s foreign exchange reserves being completely depleted. Pakistan imported $ 400 million worth of tea powder in the 2021-22 financial year.

Pakistan is one of the largest importers of tea in the world. The Pakistani minister said that debts are currently being incurred for this. Pak people are criticizing on Twitter for appealing to reduce tea consumption. There is already an energy problem in Pak. The government has ordered that no wedding ceremony be held in the national capital Islamabad after 10 p.m. The Pak planning minister asked the traders to close the markets after 8.30 pm. He said it would help reduce imports of petroleum products. Finance Minister Mifta Ismail recently warned that Pakistan’s economic situation would change to Sri Lanka if tough decisions were not taken.
