Implementation of National Food Security Act has made Odisha number one in the country. While Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh are at two and three positions, Telangana has got the 12th position. Union Minister Piyush Goyal held a meeting with state ministers on the implementation of the National Food Security Act. He released the ‘NFSA Rank Index-2022’. It is known that rice, wheat and other necessities are being supplied to the poor through ration shops under the National Food Security Act. This index measures the implementation of NFSA. Tripura stands first in each category of states followed by Himachal Pradesh and Sikkim.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal disclosed this on Twitter. Minister Piyush Goyal congratulated Odisha and Uttar Pradesh on the first two positions on Twitter. He said that there is no other system like ‘one country-one ration card’ in the world. Beneficiaries can avail the benefits of this scheme anywhere in the country. He said that in the coming period other states will also focus more and get better ranks.
