Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reacted to the central government’s reduction in petrol and diesel prices. Prime Minister Modi hoped that the decisions taken to slash petrol and diesel prices would have a positive impact on various sectors. He opined that ‘Ease of Living’ would be possible with further relief to the citizens of the country. Modi said the people have always been the first priority for his government. He commented that many families in the country are benefiting from the Ujwala Yojana scheme. Medi reminded that this scheme is very helpful especially for women. He said giving a subsidy of Rs 200 per gas cylinder under the Ujwala Yojana would put a strain on the budget for poor families.

Petrol Rates: Will state governments also reduce petrol prices?
On the other hand, BJP Rajya Sabha MP GVL Narasimha Rao thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing relief to the people by slashing petrol and diesel prices twice in a span of six months. BJP MP GVL Narasimha Rao demanded that the AP government also reduce taxes as the central government has reduced petrol and diesel prices. He blamed petrol and petrol prices in AP for being the highest in the country as the YCP government had drastically increased VAT. GVL warned that AP CM Jagan should also slash VAT like the Center to alleviate the plight of the people. Otherwise, the BJP will take the issue to the people.
