Modi-Biden: Bilateral meeting between US and India

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is busy on a visit to Japan. Modi, who is in Tokyo, Japan to attend the Quad Summit, is holding a series of meetings with heads of state from the United States, Japan and Australia. Modi had a meeting with US President Jobaiden after the recent Quad Summit. Modi said the India-US strategic partnership is a partnership of mutual trust. He said the partnership between the two countries was confident.

The bilateral meeting between Modi and Biden was attended by officials from both the countries. During the talks, the two leaders discussed the consequences of the Ukraine-Russia war. Joe Biden praised China for failing to contain the Kovid epidemic, while India won. He said that India had controlled Kovid in a democratic manner. He said Modi’s victory had instilled confidence in democracies.

This is the fourth meeting between the latest quad leaders. Meetings were held in Washington, DC in September last year. Leaders at the Quad Summit mainly discussed peace, security, trade and commerce in the Indo-Pacific region. Countries have decided to cooperate on issues such as space, climate change, health and cyber security. Japan, Australia, India and the United States have formed a quad-alliance to counter China’s aggression, especially in the Indo – Pacific region.
