Loud speakers row: Controversy over loudspeakers in Maharashtra

Maharashtra politics is becoming a hot topic across the country. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has demanded the removal of loudspeakers, especially in mosques. Maha Vikas Aghadi has issued an ultimatum to the government that if prayers are heard with loudspeakers in mosques, Hanuman Chalisa will be heard on a large scale in return. Raj Thackeray has been given a deadline of May 3 by the Shiv Sena government. In addition to this, recently Amravati MP Navneet Rana was preparing to hear Hanuman Chalisa in front of CM Uddhav Thackeray’s house ‘Matoshree’. MP Navneet Rana and her husband Ravi Rana were arrested. Both are currently out on bail.

In Maharashtra, there is fierce competition between the parties for Hindutva. Suddenly Raj Thackeray tried to ignite Hindutva when the Loudspeaker vs. Hanuman Chalisa controversy erupted. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Routh has accused the BJP of being behind the MNS and Raj Thackeray. It is alleged that the BJP is trying to destabilize the Maharashtra government at its instigation.

News is coming that the Shiv Sena’s rival Congress for power has teamed up with the NCP to provoke the MNS loudspeaker controversy to give the impression that the Shiv Sena has abandoned its Hindutva. Raj Thackeray is trying to make the people feel that the Shiv Sena Hindutva party has been abandoning its ideology for years. It is trying to brand Hindutva in Maharashtra. However, as a counter to this, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Routh is commenting that Hindutva is like a Shiv Sena school.

Meanwhile, NCP and Congress leaders are questioning the government as to why Raj Thackeray was not arrested. The court has already issued a non-bailable warrant against Raj Thackeray in several 2008 cases. In the midst of these developments, there are rumors that the BJP and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena will contest the upcoming Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections together.
