Mansa court has remanded gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in custody for seven days in connection with the murder of Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Musewala. Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is serving a prison sentence, was taken to Mansa Court by police on Wednesday morning. He was first medically examined and produced in a local court. He was remanded in police custody for 7 days. Police requested 10 days police custody but the court allowed 7 days custody. Lawrence Bishnoi will be brought to Mohali for questioning. A special team comprising anti-gangster task force and other agencies will question Lawrence Bishnoi’s role in the Sidhu Musewala murder case.
Punjab police on Tuesday remanded gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in transit from the Patiala House court in Delhi. The Punjab Advocate General himself demanded that the Patiala House court in Delhi remand him as per the Chief Minister’s orders. Lawyers for the accused Lawrence Bishnoi opposed the request of the Punjab Police due to his security in the custody of the Punjab Police, which was opposed by the Advocate General Punjab. The court granted permission to arrest the accused after hearing the arguments of both the parties.
The shooting death of Sidhu Musewala on May 29 by unidentified persons in Mansa district has caused a stir. Lawrence Bishnoi, a gangster currently in police custody, was questioned by police. He admitted that the murder was the work of his gang. Police have recently revealed that they have a feud with Moosewala and that is why their gang members have admitted to killing him.
