Kishan Reddy: 20 more Kasturba Gandhi Girls Vidyalayas for Telangana

20 new KGBV schools for Telangana: The central government has given good news to Telangana. Union Minister Kishan Reddy revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has allotted 20 more Kasturba Gandhi Girls Vidyalayas (KGBV) to Telangana for the academic year 2022-23. Kishan Reddy disclosed that if there are 4,982 Kasturba Gandhi Girls’ Vidyalayas in the country, 696 or 15 percent of them are in Telangana state. Kasturba Gandhi Girls’ Vidyalayas (KGBV) have been set up across the country with the aim of providing good education to girls belonging to SC, ST, OBC social groups, minorities, below poverty line and educationally backward groups in the country, he said.

He revealed that Telangana has the highest number of KGBV schools in India after Uttar Pradesh. He said that the comprehensive Shiksha Abhiyan program has been redesigned with the aim of making school education accessible to more people, bringing together the children of the weaker sections and the downtrodden sections in one place and developing a sense of equality among them, and providing the highest standards of education in all levels of school education from primary education to 12th standard. Kishan Reddy thanked Prime Minister Modi for allocating 20 more KGBVs to Telangana. Kishan Reddy said that in the last four years since 2018, a total of 104 KGBVs have been allotted to Telangana state. He said that for the year 2022-23, 31 KGBVs have been allocated in the whole country and 20 KGBVs have been allocated to Telangana alone.
