The SFI student wing has caused riots in Kerala. Meanwhile, Congress leader and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi’s office was vandalized on Friday. The left-wing student wing SFI has raised serious concerns, accusing Rahul Gandhi of failing to intervene in the problems caused by buffer zones around forests in the hilly areas of Kerala.
As part of the agitation, a large-scale attack was launched on Rahul Gandhi’s office in Wayanad. Visuals of the attack were aired on all channels in Kerala. About 100 SFI activists entered Rahul Gandhi’s office. Office furniture as well as equipment there were destroyed. Police have arrested eight SFI activists involved in the incident.
Kerala Congress leaders as well as National Congress leaders are outraged over the attack. Opposition Congress leader Satish reacted angrily to the incident. He alleged on Twitter that the attack by SFI goons was deadly and that the CPM had become an organized mafia.
Congress leader Casey Venugopal has termed the attack as a clear conspiracy by the CPM leadership. The Kerala CPM also said it would go the way of Narendra Modi. Casey Venugopal said he hoped party general secretary Sitaram Achury would take appropriate action on the incident.
