Jammu Kashmir: Four killed in bus fire at Katra

There was a terrible accident in Jammu. A fire broke out in a bus going from Katra to Jammu. Four passengers were in the incident Died. Another 22 people were injured. Two passengers were burnt alive when the bus caught fire and two others were rushed to a hospital where they succumbed to their injuries. According to preliminary information, the accident may have been caused by a fire coming from the engine. The bus was completely burnt out shortly after the fire broke out.

The accident took place near Kharmal, 1.5 km from Katra. At first it was all thought that there was an explosion on the bus. But officials said the bus tank exploded due to overheating and caused the accident. Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that at present, the injured are being treated at the Naraina Hospital in Jammu.

The Katra accident took place two days after a passenger bus overturned after colliding with a truck in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. At least 30 people were injured when a Rajouri bus overturned. The accident took place when the tipper collided at Candle Bridge near Rajouri.
