It is learned that CRPF jawan Padala Yogeshwara Rao of Tamara village in Patna zone was seriously injured when an HFSL grenade exploded in Jharkhand on the 24th of last month. However, on the night of June 15, he died at a private hospital in Ranchi. Yogeshwara Rao (Lava Kumar) joined CRPF in 2017. He later joined the Cobra 313 batch set up by the government to suppress the Naxalites. Yogeshwara Rao, who came to his hometown Tamara on the 7th of last month on leave, went back to work on the 22nd of last month.

Yogeshwara Rao was seriously injured when an HFSL grenade bomb fell on him while he was on duty on May 24. The crew was immediately rushed to a military hospital. Yogeshwara Rao was shifted to a private hospital in Ranchi for better treatment as his condition was already critical. He had already had his right arm amputated by a bomb blast and was being treated. Yogeshwara Rao, who had been battling death for twenty-three days, breathed his last on the night of the 15th of this month. CRPF officials shifted the body to his hometown on Friday after paying his respects there.

As soon as Yogeshwara Rao’s body reached Navatala Koodali, about 500 youths with national flags marched on a bike from Navatala Koodali to Tamara village holding the national flag and chanting ‘Yogeshwara Rao Amar Rahe, Bharat Mataki Jai, Akhanda Bharat Vardhillali’. Yogeshwara Rao moved the body to the village of Tamara. Yogeshwara Rao’s funeral was then completed with official formalities. Yogeshwara Rao’s parents were Padala Tirupati Rao and Venkatamma. They have four sons, the eldest of whom is Pratap, a soldier in the Army. The second son Kiran O is working in a private company. Yogeshwara Rao and Ishwara Rao are twins. Both are serving in the CRPF. The two are known as Lava Kush as they are twins in the village. Tragedy struck the village of Tamara with the heroic death of Yogeshwara Rao. Mango Govinda Rao, a prominent sociologist from his village, attended the funeral on Friday and paid his last respects to Yogeshwara Rao.
