Gyanvapi Mosque case: Next hearing adjourned to May 30

It is well known that the Jnanavapi Masjid case has caused a stir across the country. The case is being heard in the Varanasi District Court recently. The Varanasi court today heard a petition filed by Anjuman Intezamia challenging the latest videography survey. The court, however, adjourned the hearing to May 30 to hear further arguments on behalf of the Muslims.

However, the court has already given Hindu and Muslim parties a week to file objections to the video survey. Meanwhile, Vishnu Jain, a Hindu advocate, responded to today’s allegations. The Muslim side read some paragraphs in our petition and tried to say that it was not possible to hear the petition. However, we did not agree to this. He said the arguments were not over by today. The arguments would continue after 2 pm on Monday.

The Varanasi Civil Court has ordered a video survey of five women who have filed a petition seeking permission to perform poojas outside the mosque. According to the survey, a Shiva lingam was found in a pool in Wajukhana, a mosque. Meanwhile, the Anjuman Intezamia Mosque Committee has filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the video survey. The apex court transferred the case to the Varanasi District Court. The place where the Shivalinga shape came out should be protected. Similarly, it was ordered to allow Muslim prayers.
