Gyanavapi masjid row: బయటపడిన శివలింగాన్ని మాకు అప్పగించాలి

The Jnanavapi Masjid affair is currently the talk of the country. A Varanasi court has ordered a video survey of the entire mosque. With this the videography survey was done from 14-16 this month. Meanwhile, it seems that the Shiva lingam came out with the well in the mosque. In fact, the survey report is expected to be submitted to the Varanasi court on the 17th of this month. The Varanasi court allowed this.

On the other hand, the Supreme Court has issued key orders on the Jnanavapi Mosque. The Supreme Court on Tuesday heard a petition filed by the Anjuman Intezamia Mosque Management Committee to stop the video survey. The Varanasi District Magistrate has been directed to protect the area where the Shivalingam came out. It also allowed Muslims to pray in the same way.

Meanwhile, Professor Nagendra Pandey, chairman of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, demanded that the Shivalinga found in the Jnanavapi mosque be given to them. He questioned how it could be ‘Vajukhana’ if the Shivalingam came out. Pandey said that if the Shivalinga was handed over to Kashi Vishwanath Nyas, he would worship the Lord properly.

Historians say that the Gnanavapi Temple, part of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi, was destroyed by Aurangzeb during the Mughal rule and turned into a mosque. According to Hindu communities, pillars and walls of the Hindu temple can be seen at the back of the temple. A Varanasi court has ordered a video survey of five women who have filed a petition in the court seeking permission to worship Hindu deities in the premises of the Jnanavapi Mosque.
