The topic of three capitals in the AP is always a hot topic. The government wanted to decentralize the then existing administrative capital in Visakhapatnam, the legislative capital in Amravati and the legal capital in Kurnool. However the bill was withdrawn in the wake of legal difficulties. With a comprehensive approach, the government hopes to bring in a three-capital bill to avoid any legal implications.
BJP Rajya Sabha MP GVL Narasimha Rao said the three capitals would no longer be a political issue. The establishment of three capitals is not possible. The state government did not go for appeal as it knew three capitals was not possible. GVL alleged that the state government was obstructing work in the capital Amravati.
The AP government should come forward to provide a conducive environment for construction on lands allotted to central government agencies. The state government has been given a lump sum of Rs. Not asking to spend 50-60 thousand crores .. it is not even possible. The State Government should co-operate in the construction of lands allotted to Central Institutions. Letters have already been written to the Central Government agencies to undertake the construction of the Amravati buildings. We will do our part to ensure that the buildings of the central institutions are constructed. GVL Narasimha Rao said that the BJP’s decision was to have the capital in Amravati itself.
