Authorities at the Trichy airport have seized a large quantity of gold on information that it was being smuggled. 19 foreign gold bars were seized on an Indigo flight returning from Singapore. Gold is being smuggled into India by hiding in aircraft lavatory. The total value of gold weighing 1450 grams is Rs. 75,71,900.
