Energy Minister Peddireddy Ramachandrareddy held a review meeting with Transco vigilance officials. We are laying a steel foot on the irregularities in the power sector. Minister Peddireddy Ramachandrareddy has directed the authorities to control the theft and unauthorized use of electricity. Vigilance officials want to intensify inspections.
Accidental inspections should be carried out on domestic use as well as industrial use. Vigilance should play a key role in minimizing power losses. It is not possible to act as a prop. Joint meetings should be arranged with the SPs of all districts. Opposition parties have stated they will not run in the by-elections. Meters increase accountability among farmers. The electricity charges used by the farmers are credited to their account by the government.
Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy said that if vigilance is strengthened, power thefts, misuse and power losses will be curtailed. Tighten the IRDA meters and install additional feeders in the overload sections. New DTRs should be installed where additional load demand is required.
Sudden inspections should be carried out in areas where electricity theft is suspected. Authorities need to think innovatively, not act proactively. The minister directed the power officials and vigilance officers to take co-operation with the vigilance officers as well as the police force in the districts to curb power irregularities.
