A. Kodandramireddy is the director who has made the most films with Nandamuri Balakrishna. Once upon a time, the combination of Balakrishna and Kodandramireddy was very popular. The duo had earlier produced ‘Raktabhishekam’ in combination and ‘Dharmakshetram’ was the second film produced by the successful ‘Sri Rajeeva Productions’ head KC Reddy. Ilayaraja, who made ‘Raktabhishekam’ a musical hit, also composed the film and turned it into a musical hit. On February 14, 1992, ‘Dharmakshetra’ stood in front of the people.

When it comes to the story of ‘Dharmakshetra’ – the protagonist Banerjee believes that law, virtue and justice are for the protection of the common man and the innocent. It was called Tu.ch. Must comply. In that city, innocent people are being killed by two bullies named Durga and Pandu. Knowing that, no one can do anything for fear of the political stigma attached to them. The judge is also helpless. At the time, Banerjee was defending justice, ending the scourge. Although many innocent people lost their lives due to Durga and Pandu, the lawyers who were there to protect them argue that when Banerjee killed them, he should be convicted and punished. With that, Banerjee says in court that millions of lives would be free, even if a life like his were lost to defend justice. He says he is ready to enjoy whatever punishment is imposed on him. That concludes the story.

Balakrishna as Banerjee impressed with his performance. Divyabharati acted as the heroine. The rest of the cast includes Jaggayya, Ramireddy, Devan, Nazar, Srihari, Brahmaji, Sakshi Rangarao, Prasanna Kumar, Posani Krishnamurali, Jayalalithaa, Jyothi, Sudharani and Radhabai. The story and lyrics of the film were composed by Paruchuri Brothers and the songs were sung by Vettori and Sirivennela.

All the six songs composed in Ilayaraja’s style impressed the audience. Many songs like “Many nights are lost”, “Beauty in the middle of the cheek”, “Romantic beat with kisses”, “Koraminu komalam ర sorachepa shobhanam”, “Are still jenka” and “Once before marriage” were provided by Sirivennela. Before the release of the film, the film entertained the fans in terms of music. With that came good openings for ‘Dharmakshetram’. Later the movie did not entertain much.
