AAP government Withdrawal of new liquor policy: Deputy CM Manish Sisodia announced on Saturday that the new liquor policy introduced by the AAP government in Delhi is being withdrawn. The Delhi government has decided to continue the old policy after the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi ordered a CBI inquiry into the liquor shops. The rough draft of the new liquor policy for 2022-23 is to be sent to Lt Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena for his approval. Excise policy 2021-22 has been extended twice after March 31 this year. It ends on July 31.
But in the new liquor policy, the excise department has recommended home delivery of liquor. In this context, a clash between LG and the Delhi government has arisen again. Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said that the BJP is threatening liquor sellers and excise officials using CBI and ED. Sisodia said that government liquor shops should be opened under the new liquor policy. The old policy will be continued for six months until the new policy is implemented.

He said that a new liquor policy has been brought to curb corruption.. Before that, 850 liquor shops gave the government almost Rs. 6000 crores in revenue.. After the new policy, the government will get Rs. Manish Sisodia said that the income would have been more than 9000 crores. He criticized the BJP for targeting and harassing the AAP government. Sisodia said that despite the prohibition of liquor in Gujarat.. adulterated liquor is being sold there.. this is leading to the death of people.. But in Delhi we have brought a new excise policy and we have decided to sell liquor without any irregularities.
