Nupur Sharma’s remarks on the Prophet Muhammad are still being heard. A young man who shared a post on social media in support of Nupur Sharma has been brutally murdered. The incident took place on Maldas Street in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The deceased Kanhaiyalal Tyler is living a career. Two thugs brutally chopped him off and severed his head and torso. They later released a video claiming that they had done the work themselves. Warnings were also sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
With this, there was a sudden tension in Udaipur. All shops in the Maldas Street area were closed. Internet services are down. An additional 600 police were evacuated to the area. On the other hand, the perpetrators of the atrocity took a video of the murder themselves and posted it on social media. The video seems to have warned that the move would be lauded and that Prime Minister Modi would follow suit.
Rajasthan CM Ashok Gahlot condemned the incident. He said strict action would be taken against those involved in the murder. No one was asked to share photos and videos of the murder on social media. Everyone was advised to be peaceful. As a precautionary measure, the authorities announced that internet services would be suspended for 24 hours in Udaipur district.
The Udaipur SP said the murder was being investigated. The accused, Gaus Mohammad and Riaz Mohammad, were arrested by the police. Police said the two were from Surajpol in Udaipur. On the other hand many across the country are expressing concern over the incident.
