CM KCR: CM KCR's review on floods.. Orders to be alert

CM KCR conducted a review on the latest weather conditions, floods and relief measures in flooded areas in the state. CM KCR, who spoke to the ministers on the phone, wanted to take immediate action on the flooding of the Devada project. He ordered immediate release of funds for relief measures. People are advised not to come out unless it is an emergency. People’s representatives should not leave the constituencies. They want to ensure that the electricity supply is not disrupted and to prepare enough coal for a month. CM KCR advised the agriculture officials to prepare seeds and fertilizers as soon as the floods recede.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is alerting the public representatives of the government machinery throughout the state to reduce as much as possible the loss of property and life caused by floods in the situation where streams, reservoirs and rivers are overflowing in the background of incessant heavy rains in the state. CM KCR, who has already conducted reviews for two days and alerted, is holding a high-level review meeting on rains and floods at Pragati Bhavan on Wednesday.

Both the Krishna and Godavari rivers are flowing in the background of the heavy rains above. Especially in the background of Godavari river flowing beyond the warnings, CM KCR is issuing appropriate orders to the officials of the irrigation department asking about the inflow and outflow related to the various reservoirs like SSRSP on the river. The CM is regularly inquiring about the steps taken to move people to safer places in flooded areas.

CM KCR on the phone is advising on the measures to be taken after predicting the flood from Upper Godavari in Maharashtra. The CM is inquiring about the protective measures being taken by the concerned departments to prevent problems such as transportation and electricity due to floods. The officials explained to the CM that even though the water is being released downstream as much as possible, the flood water is being released into the Kadem project on the Godavari river. So far 12 villages have been evacuated under the Mumpu Kadem project. From there, the CM issued appropriate instructions over the phone to the local minister Indrakaran Reddy, who is participating in the security measures. The CM directed Special Principal Secretary Municipal Department Arvind Kumar to take immediate action in Nirmal and other flood-affected towns. The CM ordered the minister Vemula Prashant Reddy to take immediate steps to restore the national and state roads which are cut off due to floods. The CM directed the CS, Irrigation Officers, District Collectors and SPs to take immediate measures to avoid any loss of life.

CM KCR ordered the local minister Puvwada Ajay Kumar to stay there and monitor the arrangements in view of the increasing flood in Bhadrachalam and to evacuate the people of the flooded areas immediately. CM KCR reviewed with Agriculture Minister Singireddy Nirajan Reddy and Rythubandhu Samiti President Palla Rajeshwar Reddy about the condition of crops in the state due to floods. The CM ordered to make the necessary seeds and fertilizers available immediately after the floods recede.

CMD Raghurama Reddy explained to the CM that where there are interruptions in electricity, electricity is restored immediately through alternative facilities. The CM said that hydel projects should be started wherever there is an opportunity to catch the flood reaching the projects. CM KCR directed the ENC Muralidhar Rao to take immediate steps to remove the flood water in view of the progress of the Devada projects.

From the review meeting, the ministers, collectors and government officials of all the departments in the districts with high flood inundation were asked over the phone and orders were issued. CM KCR once again ordered the Ministers and MLAs of the respective districts not to leave their respective constituencies under any circumstances until the situation improves. CM KCR has taken a decision to extend the already announced holidays for educational institutions till 16th in the background of ongoing heavy rains. CM KCR ordered the review meeting to issue orders to the officials of the education department. According to the orders of the CM, the top officials of the education department issued orders extending the holidays.

Ministers Satyavathy Rathore, Singireddy Niranjan Reddy, MLC, Rythubandhu Samiti Presidents Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, Madhusudhanachari, MLAs Sandra Venkata Veeraiah, Kaleru Venkatesh, Harshavardhan Reddy, Upender Reddy, CS Somesh Kumar, DGP Mahender Reddy, CMO officials, Irrigation department officials were present in this review meeting. ENC Muralidhar, Vidyuttu, R&B, GHMC, Municipal and Police department officials participated in this meeting.
