CM Jagan held a video conference with district collectors in the background of heavy rains across AP. Collectors from north coast to Eluru attended this meeting. CM Jagan said that this year Godavari was flooded early.. More than 10 lakh cusecs was flooded in the month of July itself. He said that now the second danger warning is going on. There are indications that the flood will increase on Wednesday morning. He said that the flood in Godavari is likely to reach 16 lakh cusecs. CM Jagan suggested that the officials should be ready to face the situations arising due to this. Godavari river is likely to continue flooding due to heavy rains in Maharashtra, he said. Keeping these circumstances in mind, appropriate measures were ordered to be taken. No one should die due to rains under any circumstances.

CM Jagan suggested that there are two NDRF teams in Koonavaram and Chintoor.. The control rooms should work effectively. He said there are four SDRF teams in VRpuram, Koonavaram, Amalapuram and Velurupadu. Line departments should be ready with alternatives. Flood relief camps should be opened wherever necessary. The arrangements in the relief camps should be good. The officials were told that there should not be any difficulty in arranging good food, drinking water and other facilities. When the victims go home from the relief camps, they want to give Rs.2 thousand to each family. He said that this cash will be used as an immediate help to them.
Medical staff, nurses and other staff should be fully available in PHCs, CHCs and area hospitals. CM Jagan ordered the officials to keep emergency medicines available. They want to take steps to improve sanitation. Measures should be taken to prevent contamination of drinking water schemes. Generators should be kept available so that emergency services can run in the face of interruption of current supply. They want to prepare tankers for drinking water. They want to be indifferent to dilapidated structures. Ponds, irrigation canals…wherever they are weak, appropriate precautions should be taken. Actions should be taken to prevent flooding of power substations. Boats, life jackets… should be kept ready in the required areas. Jagan stated that they are giving immediate funds at the rate of Rs. 2 crore to the collectors of Alluru Sitaramaraj, East Godavari, Eluru and BR. Ambedkar Konaseema districts. The officials were advised to collect the details of the damage caused due to flood and send daily reports.
