The video comes a day after Rajinikanth released the Chess Olympiad-2022 teaser. Around 2 thousand athletes are likely to participate in this Olympiad event this year. This event ends on August 10. India will host the Chess Olympiad for the first time in its almost 100-year history. A total of 188 countries have registered for the upcoming event.

Last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the first torch relay for the 44th Chess Olympiad. “The first torch relay of Chess Olympiad will start from India and it will also be the first time that India will host a major event.” said the Prime Minister. Prime Minister Modi said that we are proud that this sport has progressed from its birthplace and made its presence felt all over the world. He said it is a pleasure to see chess returning to its birthplace and celebrating its success in the form of Chess Olympiad.

Tamil superstar Rajinikanth released the teaser of the 44th Chess Olympiad on Friday evening through social media. Speaking on the occasion, he said that organizing these competitions in the state is a matter of pride for all Tamilians. The teaser, which is about 30 seconds long, has scenes of Chief Minister MK Stalin and popular music director AR Rehman walking solemnly in a white pant shirt. At the Mahabalipuram Seaside Temple, the scenes of Bharata Natya artists dancing and Napier Bridge playing chess board colors are a sight to behold. At the end of the video, while Stalin is bowing, the song ends saying, Come to Tamil Nadu. This teaser is directed by Vignesh Sivan and composed by AR Rahman.
