Meanwhile, there have been a lot of deaths during the Char Dam expedition this year. The Uttarakhand government has said that 91 people have died since the yatra began. Uttarakhand Director General of Health Shailaja Bhat on Friday said that most of the deaths were due to heart attack and high altitude sickness. Adverse weather has had an impact on the sick. Meanwhile, the state government has recently revealed that Char Dam health services have been further strengthened as compared to the previous ones. An additional 169 physicians were recruited. The Char Dam Yatra began on May 3 with the permission of the Gangotri and Yamunotri Yatra for the devotees. The Char Dam Yatra was inaugurated by Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami on May 3. Kedarnath will open on May 6. Badrinath Yatra will start on May 8. On the other hand, the Uttarakhand government is appealing to sick devotees not to come. The Uttarakhand government has also set up screening centers to test health in various areas.
