AP BJP general secretary Vishnuvardhan Reddy countered on recent remarks made by CPM leaders on NDA presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu. NDA presidential candidate Murmu said it was inappropriate for the CPM to oppose the candidature. He said the NDA was supporting Murmu as a presidential candidate in the interests of social justice, adding that it was unreasonable for the CPM to criticize the YSR Congress party for supporting a tribal woman. He was incensed that the ever-grounded, CPM leaders in the country were too far-fetched to speak. He said that the CPM was criticizing only to express their presence and that the CPM was committing anti-women and anti-tribal activities.
He said communist leaders had no right to criticize the NDA for its emphasis on social justice. Didn’t the Communists see the support of non-NDA parties like Jharkhand JMM party leader Hemant Soren, Orissa Biju Janata Dal leader Naveen Patnaik, Karnataka Janata Dal (YS) Deve Gowda and many other parties? He asked. He lamented that it was not shameful for the Left to politicize even the constitutional elections.
