Delhi police have registered cases against former BJP spokespersons Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal along with MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and controversial saint Yati Narasimhananda for allegedly posting provocative messages on social media. FIRs were registered after seeing their comments on social media.

Meanwhile, Asaduddin Owaisi commented on Twitter about the FIR registered against him and the Delhi Police. He was outraged that the FIR was registered without stating what was the case registered against him. He commented that this was the first time he had seen such an FIR. He said I was not afraid of things like that. Criticism of hate speech should not be seen as hateful remarks, he said.

He said the Delhi police did not seem to have the courage to pursue cases against Yati, Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal. Yeti Narasimhananda said they were violating the bail rules by promoting genocide against Muslims and denigrating Islam. Asaduddin alleged that he was accustomed to making such remarks due to the lack of action taken against them.

Delhi Police has been criticized for suffering from ‘Balanced Wad’ Syndrome. On the one hand, Asaduddin Owaisi was insulting the Prophet Muhammad, on the other hand, he was criticized for filing a case against me to persuade BJP supporters. In contrast, Muslim students, journalists and activists commented on Twitter that they were simply imprisoned for the crime of being Muslim.
