The tripartite committee set up by the Union Home Ministry to look into the unresolved AP redistricting issues between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states has come to an end. Key discussions were held on the arrears to be paid by Telangana to the distribution companies, removal of tax arrears, cash balances, division of deposits, cash credit transaction of AP and Telangana Civil Supplies Corporations.

During a meeting chaired by the Joint Secretary, Union Home Ministry, APGENCO said that if the court case on power arrears is withdrawn, Telangana is ready to resolve the dispute through a mutual agreement between AP Power Utilities and TS Power Utilities. The APSFC division issue is pending due to the above three issues including the cases. Therefore, the Telangana government has stated that no further progress can be made on the APSFC division unless the court cases are withdrawn. On the other hand .. The Joint Secretary (Center-State), MHA agreed with Telangana on the elimination of tax arrears .. decided that this issue was not a bilateral issue and agreed to eliminate the issue. Meanwhile, the Joint Secretary (CS) directed Telangana to send details of cash deposits and bank deposits due from Andhra Pradesh on cash deposits and separation of bank deposits. Telangana has agreed to give Rs 354 crore to AP. One of the five agenda items in the Union Home Ministry meeting today was removed after Telangana’s argument that it was not a matter for the two states.
