Chandrababu met senior party leaders at the TDP headquarters in Amravati. On this occasion, he discussed with the TDP leaders the programs to be undertaken in terms of the party. Apart from his visits, Chandrababu also suggested that programs be undertaken on various issues in terms of the party. However, TDP leaders suggested that a movement be launched on farmer issues first. It was decided at the meeting to take action against the clamping of power meters to agricultural motors. TDP leaders brought to Chandrababu’s notice that there was concern among farmers over the government’s decision to install meters for agricultural motors. Uttaranchal leaders explained that farmers were opposed to the meter tightening scheme undertaken in Srikakulam district as a pilot project.

In this context, the TDP has decided to hold conferences across the state against the installation of electricity meters for agricultural motors. From the 20th of this month, the TDP will hold open houses in the name of the peasant struggle. The TDP is gearing up for five peasant struggles at the rate of one regional conference in five parliamentary seats. TDP farmer struggle conferences will start from Kadapa, the CM’s home district. TDP regional conferences will be held in Kadapa on the 20th of this month, Nellore on the 25th and Kakinada on the 1st of next month. TDP will hold farmer’s trail conferences on July 7 in Vijayanagaram and on July 13 in Vijayawada.
