A biodiversity park will be set up in every joint district of Andhra Pradesh. The AP government has decided to set up a Biodiversity Park to create awareness among the people about the need for conservation as well as the environment. As part of this, the government is preparing to set up four biodiversity parks in Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Tirupati and Kadapa in the first phase. The Biodiversity Board will sanction Rs 1 crore for each park and Rs 50 lakh for the museum.

Authorities have already allotted 6 acres on the Andhra University campus in Visakhapatnam, 7.5 acres on the Adikavi Nannayya University campus in Kakinada, 6 acres in Venkatapuram under Tuda in Tirupati and 6 acres belonging to APIIC in Kadapa city for biodiversity parks. Arrangements are being made to hand over these lands to the Biodiversity Board soon. In the second phase, the authorities will soon set up biodiversity parks in Kurnool, Amravati and Anantapur districts.
