Heavy rains are falling in Jammu and Kashmir Amarnath. This caused floods in the vicinity of Amarnath. Flood water reached the Amarnath cave. It seems that 10 people have died so far. It is reported that some others were washed away in the floods. ITBP, NDRF and SDRF forces have already started the rescue operation. Around 5.30 pm on Friday, there was heavy rain in the vicinity of Amarnath. This caused flooding. Helicopters are trying to rescue those injured in the floods. The tents pitched by the pilgrims were also washed away in the flood. Around 12 thousand pilgrims were trapped in the flood at Bolenath cave. Along with this, landslides are occurring. Along with this, the tents of the pilgrims were washed away in the valleys. Rescue programs are being carried out to bring the people trapped in the accident to safe areas.

Amarnath Yatra started on 30th of last month. This trip will be held till August 11. The Indian government has tightened security due to the possibility of terrorist attacks. Amarnath Yatra was not held for last two years due to covid. As a result, a large number of pilgrims have come to Amarnath Yatra this year. But since yesterday it has been raining heavily in the vicinity of Amarnath and lightning floods have flooded the surroundings from the hills. The current rains and weather are hampering the rescue operations. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha is reviewing the current situation.
