The statue of Alluri was made with the help of a donor named Alluri Sitaramaraju from Agarru village of Palakollu mandal. This donor has provided the required expenditure of Rs.3 crores for Alluri statue. But in an area where the population of Kshatriyas is high, everyone felt that it would be better to have a statue of Alluri, the hero of Manyam. Apart from this, the place where the revolutionary was born is also located here. Taking these factors into consideration, Bhimavaram became the venue for Alluri Sitaramaraj’s idol unveiling program.
