The ‘Agnipath’ scheme is getting a great response from the youth. Officials revealed that 1 lakh 83 thousand applications were received within this six-day period. It is said that the new scheme brought by the Center for recruitment in the three forces is being well received. The registration process will end on July 5. Interested candidates are advised to register their details on the website.
Meanwhile, the central government announced the ‘Agnipath’ scheme on June 14 to bring reforms in the recruitment of the three forces. Youths between the age of seventeen and a half to 21 years can apply. After completion of four years, 25 percent of them will continue to be firefighters. As no recruitment has been done for the last two years, this year (2022) the maximum age limit for recruitment has been increased to 23 years. Officials say that the applications are coming in heavily. But this scheme is getting mixed response from the youth across the country. The protests in many states have turned violent. States like Punjab, which oppose the scheme, are also planning to pass an assembly resolution against Agnipath. The application deadline for this will end on the 5th of next month. That means there is only six more days left, the officials said. Officials believe that the number of applications may be huge in these six days.
