On the other hand, five people lost their lives due to lightning in Bihar. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday expressed grief over the death of five people due to lightning. An ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh each has been announced for the family members of the deceased. He appealed to the people to be fully alert during adverse weather conditions and follow the instructions issued by the Disaster Management Department to avoid lightning strikes.
The Chief Minister said on Twitter that it is sad that 5 people have died due to lightning in 5 districts of the state, and the dependents of the deceased will be granted immediate exgratia of Rs. 4 lakh each. According to a press release from Chief Minister’s office.. One in Siwan, 1 in Samastipur, 1 in Gaya, 1 in Khagaria and 1 in Saran were killed due to lightning. Meanwhile, on July 20 and 21, the India Meteorological Department said on Sunday that there is a possibility of heavy rains in Odisha, Bihar, West Bengal and Sikkim.
