Estimated flood damage in Telangana: Due to recent heavy rains and floods in the state, Godavari catchment areas as well as many parts of North Telangana have suffered heavy losses. Crops in lowland areas were damaged due to overflowing of Godavari river. Most of the colonies in Nirmal, Bainsa, Manchiryala, Manthani, Ramagundam and Bhadrachalam towns were submerged and suffered heavy damage. Roads, buildings and electricity pylons have been erected. Due to recent heavy rains and floods in Telangana Rs. The government has estimated the loss to be 1400 crores. It also submitted a report to the Center on flood losses. Immediately Rs. 1000 crores have been requested from the center and the state government to release under aid.

Details of flood damage:

Roads and Buildings Department has suffered a loss of Rs.498 crores due to flood damage, lack of roads and other reasons. Rs.449 crores in Panchayat Raj Department..Rs.33 crores in Irrigation Department..Rs.379 crores in Municipal Administration..Rs.in Electricity Department. According to the preliminary estimates, reports have been prepared by the respective departments and submitted to the Centre. In the same case, Rs. 25 crores in order to move them along with collapsing of houses and other flood losses totaling Rs. Officials have prepared reports and sent them to the Center that the flood damage has occurred in the state to the tune of 1400 crores.
