Hyderabad CP CV Anand said that they have launched an in-depth investigation into the Jubilee Hills Amnesia Pub rape case which caused a stir in Hyderabad. A total of six suspects have been arrested, of whom only one is a major. He said there were five miners in the case so the names were not disclosed as per the Supreme Court orders. A case has been registered against all of them under the Pokso Act. However, the sixth person did not rape the victim. Rape offenders face up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment. He said they had full evidence regarding the case. The victim in the rape case said she was unable to identify the culprits. He did not recognize anyone except one. He said the delay in detaining the accused was due to lack of proper evidence. CP said they would have to submit full evidence to the court. He revealed that the culprits were identified through CC footage.

The incident took place on May 28. The victim did not tell her parents till May 31. The case was registered on May 31 at Jubilee Hills PS, CP CV Anand said. On May 28, at 1:10 pm, the victim and her friend were in the pub until 1:50 pm, after which her friend left the pub. However, another friend met the victim, CP said. At the same time, along with the minor accused, Saduddin went to the victim. CP said that they behaved rudely in the pub. They came out of the pub at 5:30 pm. The victim’s friend left the pub and booked a cab. As soon as he came out of the pub, he picked up the victim and told the accused to go to the cons bakery. He allegedly took videos of the girl kissing in the middle. The victim was dropped off at the pub again at 7:15 p.m. CP explained that cases have been registered against the accused under 376 (d) 323 Poxo, 5g (6), 366 (a), IT Act 67.

CP Anand said the girl believed the accused and left. He said some of the girls could not be identified and another girl with the victim sensed the malice of the accused and went into the cab. But this girl went with them and was raped. CP CV Anand said the news that the home minister’s grandson was involved in the gang-rape case was not just an allegation. They did not get such a clue during the investigation. CP said that if anyone has any evidence, they should submit it and they will definitely investigate.
