The waterfalls in the Allur Sitaramaraj district are a source of joy and happiness for the tourists. Saria Falls has become a death knell for tourists. Saria Falls in Ananthagiri Zone Jeenabad Panchayat has become dangerous. Two youths from Visakhapatnam who were on a picnic at Saria Falls on Tuesday were abducted.

Ananthagiri police finally found their bodies and brought them ashore. Four friends from Ellammatota area near Visakhapatnam came to visit Saria Falls on Tuesday. One of them, 39, accidentally slipped in a waterfall and a 17-year-old boy named Chaitanya was also abducted in an attempt to save himself. Concerned, the other two friends went to the nearby Devarapalli police station and lodged a complaint but no action was taken as it was night time.

Ananthagiri police on Wednesday morning found the bodies with yard swimmers. The bodies were washed ashore and later taken to a hospital for postmortem. Despite several warnings issued by the locals to the police on Saria Falls, tourists are often dying at the falls. Although warning boards have been set up, tourists are ignoring them, causing accidents and plunging their families into mourning.

Dozens of tourists have already died at Saria Falls. Young people in particular are more likely to die in this accident. So still parents can avoid accidents at the falls if they take proper care in sending their children to visit the proper waterfall. Sai, who died in the accident, is survived by his wife and two daughters. He runs a small grocery store in Visakhapatnam. Chaitanya is studying Intermediate second year.
